Welcome to Weavolution's new home on the Net. You should not notice any difference in look or functionality, but if you do please contact us via e-mail, so we can sort things out. You will notice the front page looks slightly different it will be reinstated as you know it soon.

Our new home is faster and more responsive, stable and should not kick up multiple comments or posts. We hope you enjoy our new home. All the content has now been migrated and the site is again fully open!

Thank you for your patience over the last few days. We learned how much you all really love the site! We are so glad our members love Weavolution as much as we do.

Happy Weaving,

Erica & Oliver

Not being able to post on Weavolution for nearly three days was painful! The thing it taught us was how much our users love the site! Everytime some one wrote to ask about this what we heard was "I love Weavolution, I can't live without it. Please let me post again soon!"

We do apologize for the length of time the tech support folks took to get the new database here. But I think we're all very grateful they did! I hope you all enjoy posting here as much as we do!

Happy Weaving,

Erica

Welcome back.  I'm sure the teething problems were stressful, but here's hoping things are now running smoothly.  ;)

This is the third forum (of the ones I'm active on) that has been updated this spring - and the only update that has worked smoothly (from what I see - I don't know how many more grey hairs you have now ;) ).

One thing though, regarding a different look (though I don't remember how it used to be): The groups a weaver is member of are now listed in a narrow column on the right-hand side of each of his messages, and on the left-hand side there is quite a lot of blank space if the list of groups is long. Not a big problem, but I find it a bit annoying. It's the same lay-out on both Firefox and Chrome.

Erica

We really appreciate the positive comments on our hard work. We have worked through May making adjustments to the site on this server. There are still a few bugs "in the machine". The group issue being one of them. We both literally worked all day trying to chase down the cause of this issue. We are still hot on the trail. We know you will all bear with us while we wrestle with this and a few other minor kinks. We hope our members won't necessarily notice the few other things we have on our to do list! But if you notice an issue please do e-mail us! Thanks again, Erica

These past few days have certainly been challenging!!!...Hope everything is all set...and thanks

Ok, so I admit it.   I'm addicted to Weavolution.   I have it open in a browser window all day, and not being able to do that was  painful.   So my thanks to all the behind the scenes work and the people who did the upgrade.   It's wonderful to have the site back!

Now Oliver and Erica, you need to open a nice bottle of wine and relax a bit!

tommye scanlin

Thank you for working to make this site a more pleasant experience to use. So far, I see a bit more speed for loading but it's still a bit slow. One of the things I hope will be able to be reinstated is the feature where one may stay signed in. That hasn't worked when I've tried it several times... that was handy earlier, not to have to sign in each time. Thanks again for everything you put into the site! Tommye

laurafry

Like Tommye I can't seem to stay logged in.  A minor inconvenience, but...

Hoping that the rest of the transfer goes smoothly and the bugs will soon be rooted out so you can relax a bit.  ;)

cheers,

Laura

Now, I am chompin' at the bit to post projects again!

BTW, do we still call this DAM time? (Digital Assest Management?)

Erica

I think I've tracked this one down, please cross your fingers as only time will tell on this issue.

Sally, I'd say this does constitute DAM time. :)

laurafry

I still don't have an orange 'Add Project' button on my project page...

cheers,

Laura

Erica

Laura,

Both Oliver and I see the add project button. Please e-mail us wiht more specifics, such as Operating System, Browser, link to the effected page, and preferably a screen shot.

Thanks,

Erica

So glad you're back.  It was a rude awakening to my level of addiction.  It also finally gave me a big enough push to finally hit that "donate" button.  Thanks!(And on another note, it still happens that when I hit "save" without hitting "disable rich-text" first, it deletes my comment and I have to start from the beginning.)

laurafry

Um. I would be happy to add a screen shot - if I knew how to do that.

I'm using Safari and Windows (not sure of the version although I can find out) and when I go to "My Projects" there ought to be an orange Add Project 'button' on the upper left and there isn't.  Perhaps I'm the only one having this problem so we can take it private if you want...

cheers,

Laura

SallyE (not verified)

Hm, I don't think I ever did have an orange "add projects" button.  I always went to the "add stuff" tab at the top.  But now I notice that projects aren't on the list of things you can add from there.   So, how do I add projects?  I'm running Foxfire on Vista (ya, I know - Vista.)

BTW, why is it listing the groups people belong to with each and every post and reply?   This just makes scrolling take longer.   And some people are in a LOT of groups!

BTW re logging in - I currently have three tabs open, and went to the one open on the dashboard to look at something. It wanted me to log in again despite being in the middle of writing this post.

Laura, I'm with you, I'm missing the " add project" once you push the " add stuff" tab. I use Safari. Thanks for all your hard work Erica, it's sooooooo good to be back!

Erica

Laura,

I'm seeing the issue in Safari, but no other browser. It will take some time to resaerch why Safari is treating the context differently.

Thanks,

Erica

SallyE (not verified)

I'm having the problem also and I'm running Foxfire.  So it's not just Safari.

laurafry

OK - will try Chrome and see if that works instead...

cheers,

Laura

laurafry

with Chrome, either.  Maybe it's a Windows thing...?

cheers,

Laura

laurafry

is likewise unsuccessful in bringing up the Add Project button.  And Internet Explorer doesn't allow me to use Enter to page down.  Hmm.  Cheers,Laura

Erica

Laura,

Please double check Chrome. We are using Chrome and do see the link. It is in the orange box on the left, between Read about adding projects and Watch a video.

Thanks for letting us know,

Erica

Thanks for all you do!

I haven't had time to explore much, but have only noticed a couple things (using Chrome here) which are not the same as before:

There are now huge long lists of the Groups which each the posting member belongs to.

And no rotating image/project on the main page.

Erica

I missed a tick box when opening the site back up! My only excuse is there were a lot of tick boxes at it was 5 am and TJ really wanted my attention! :)

My most sincere apologies to everyone!

Thanks again for your patience!

Erica

When I opened Weavolution this time, I was logged on automatically. Thanks!

Artistry

A hearty thank you, Erica, add projects is there and I'm using Safari!

laurafry

Thanks Erica!  This morning I was automatically logged in and my Add Project option is back.  :D  Congrats on the move.

cheers,

Laura

kerstinfroberg

currently opens in both a new window and in the weavo one from which the link goes. Using "back" button takes me back to weavo.

(Minor problem, but slightly annoying)

Having worked in IT in the past I know how hard migrations can be & the site is working great on my end and I appreciate the faster load time.

Congratulations on a job well done.

Erica

Kerstin,

Is there something specific that behaves this way when you choose to open it in a new window. It is always useful to know which browser and OS you are using.

Thanks,

Erica

Erica

Thanks FiberFare,

We all appreciate the compiemnts. I include TJ in this as he gave up some cuddle time to make the migration go so smoothly, though we did most of the work while he was sleeping. :)

It was really interesting, we learned a lot through the migration process!

Thanks again,

Erica, Oliver & TJ

kerstinfroberg

Sorry - forgot to give specifics.

I'm using a PC, Win XP home (not sure if there are "sub-versions"). In both Firefox 21.0 and Chrome (can't find any version info), if I click my "open-in-new-window"-link from (for instance) the what-to-share thread (here also given as a new-window link) I get both a new window AND the link opened in the window from which I click. We have had that problem before - again, it is a minor problem.

Artistry

Erica, I'm so embarrassed ! I was adding the years on my projects on my page and woke up to see 8 of my projects on the current projects page! Can you remove them? Or do we just have to wait it out? Cathie

endorph

it gives us a chance to see your lovely projects again! Erica and Oliver - thank you for all of your hard work - I am definitely seeing a speed increase in loading the site - Thanks Again!

Hi, there was a short drupal burp this Tuesday morning and now I am back to having to sign back in each time I come back to Weavo.  Did something get reset when the system lurched this am?  Deb Mc

I am still unable to stay logged on.  I haven't added any projects and have not looked to see if I have the problems others have reported, but using IE 8 (I think), I am logged out every time I close the browser.

sally orgren

Yep. Me too. Login is not sticking.

However, I am able to add a project or post to a forum. Just have to log in each time.

Erica

The log out issue should be fixed again and I am talking to the host about why the change occured without me having done anything!

Thanks for letting me know everyone!

Realized last night that I can no longer access Weavo via my iPad.  It's not the newest version and runs Safari.  Says it cannot get a 'secure' connection to the page...

cheers,

Laura

Erica

Laura,

I use dolphin on my iPad an have no problems accessing. As you don't normally connect via https (secure connection), I'm not sure why you are getting this error message. Please check your iPad's settings. I will check this on my iPad, which I unfortunately left at work today, so it will be tomorrow before I can see if the problem happens on mine as well.

Cheers,

Erica

laurafry

I don't know why I can't connect anymore - so far as I know none of my settings have changed but I will check and see.

Thanks,

Laura

When looking at postings, I don't like seeing the groups that an individual belongs to as it takes up a lot of real estate and requires more scrolling down the page.  Is this something that subscribers requested?  Can I get rid of the feature?

Like others, I can't stay signed-in.

Thanks.

Janet

still having to sign in every time - know there will be some bumps in the road as the new server gets broken in - Thanks
