I just finished a few color gamps and am very unhappy with the way the selvedges look with tucking in the last color weft and starting the new weft.

Does anyone have any advice to avoid this build up of weft threads with every color change?

What are you using for the weft? Wool fulls quite well and you can easily just leave the tail at the selvedge. Other fibers will be diffferent.

You will find that it gets easier to hide ends when you weave with finer threads, just because they are thinner.  But for the two ply threads, you might try untwisting the plies.   That gives you the opportunity to cut one ply short and that helps to hide the remaining ply.

Yes, I think I will try again with 10/2. I didn't think about untwisting....duh!
