Due to space I would like a loom that I can weave scarves and also an occasional rug. I own Baby Wolf, Harrisville and Union looms now but just don't have space for them all to use without rearranging furniture.

If I had to have one loom, it would probably be a Scandinavian type; a Glimkra or Toika or one of Woolhouse tool's.  To my mind they are the most versatile.  The closest I have to that is an 8 shaft countermarch barn frame loom.  It's lovely, but very large.

Or an Oxaback - the Lilla is marvelous for small spaces and a wide range of fabrics.

I would definitely look at the Scandinavian looms, Oxaback, Glimakra, Toika. The countermarch is the best choice for all the variety you want to weave. Keep us posted on what you choose and feel free to ask more questions. Claudia

You should also consider B-type Macombers, especially if space is an issue.  Althought they are jack, not countermarche, looms, they are heavy enough and have overhead jacks for rugs, but can also do light fabric.
