Beautiful warp colors - what is the motif on the rags that is showing through?  Lucky, lucky grandbaby.

Yes, carpet warp colors have certainly improved lately. The brights are especially nice.

This particular rag was yardage left in the "free" area at a Seattle Weavers' Guild meeting. We have a place where you can put things you no longer want and they are up for grabs. I have made use of this benefit both on the giving and receiving ends. Finding this 13-yard treasure waiting for me there made me very happy.

The motif on the rag here is canning jars full of colorful fruits and vegetables. When my daughter asked for a brightly colored rug I instantly thought of this rag.

The secondary "sketchy" design left by the print on your rag weft is fascinating!

Sort of "California rags" meets "rep weave." Cool!

The interaction of rag color/print and the open Rep weave structure is often a surprise and a delight. There are times I weave along thinking the current rug will not be a favorite but it turns out wonderfully. Constant discovery makes weaving a great adventure.

Lovely colours and the effect of the weft graphic showing through the warp.

How wide were the strips used in the weft? It is gorgeous.

This rag fabric was a bit thin so I cut it about 1 1/2 " wide and filled it with 1/2" strips cut from tee shirts. Thank you for the compliment.

Notes

This is the third rep rug warp in my "stripes" series. My daughter requested a brightly colored rug for my little toddler granddaughter. This is the result. Perhaps it will soon help Evie learn her colors.
