How does it work? I'm trying according to the Handwoven article "Warped and Twisted Scarves" (May/June 2012), but can't get it to work. I've tried following the instructions on page 66, straight twill trheading, the warp ends from shafts 1 and 4 are threaded through a bead above the warp ends on shafts 2 and 3. I only get a clean shed when shafts 1 and 4 are up, the others are useable only with difficulty (shaft 1 and 2 up or 3 and 4 up) or not at all (shaft 2 and 3 up).

On page 68 of the article are slightly different intructions: Cross the threads from sahfts 1 and 3 over the threads on shaft 2, and the draft shows a threading of 1-2-2-3. So far, so good, but the tie-up on the draft shows shaft 4 being used. Or does it? I don't understand, help!

Actually, I don't care how exactly these scarves were done, I'd just like to do a non-manual leno weave - any tips on how to achieve that are thankfully received!

Thanks in advance and happy new year! Klara

No, sorry, forgot all about it and didn't pursue it further.
