I want to weave a bath towel and am thinking of using bamboo silk, sport weight .

Has anyone used this and how does it wash up? I have used bamboo sheets and have bamboo pants and love them and thought it would be softer for a towel than all cotton, but not sure how it washes and how absorbant it would be.

Thanks for any wisdom !

Not familiar with bamboo silk, but have woven and washed silk city' bamboo 12 and it washes beautifully and is extremely soft. Hope this helps. Dorn

Is there actual silk content or is it regenerated bamboo (rayon)? I would not use actual silk in a towel for a) the cost and b) I'd be concened about how well it would stand up to frequent launderings. Regenerated bamboo (rayon) is very absorbent. It also tends to release moisture very slowly meaning longer drying times. This might present an issue if you live in a humid climate. Cheers Laura
