Oh Elizabeth,

This is exquisite.  You did a wonderful job and I am sure Sandra would be thrilled to see how well it turned out.  It looks yummy and soft and still delicate.  I would not full it further, the drape looks really good.

Thanks so much Claudia.  Sandra's article is so inspiring I am busy digging through the stash to try some variations.

What a beautiful piece of work. It made me curious about the book you mentioned and I have meanwhile ordered a copy. This technique has always been one of my "things-to-do". Hope to see more of your work in the near future. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks!  I think the book is definitely "library worthy".  Sandra Rude's article alone could inspire many projects.  I look forward to seeing some more of your loom-ings.

Notes

I had some closeout lace-weight alpaca that I wanted to use, and I had just been reading Sandra Rude's article "fulled merino scarves" in The Best of Weavers Fabrics That Go Bump. (Great!) I used the draft for Sandra's scarf "B" but sett it a little closer even though my alpaca was a little heavier.  I was concerned that the alpaca wouldn't full to the same degree as the merino used by Sandra Rude. I think I can full the scarf a little more, but it seems stable and is very soft and drape-y.
