I want to try and make something from my handwoven fabric - just need to do it!

It is always the first time doing anything new that fear and apprehension has to be overcome. I got through cutting and sewing handwoven fabric by believing 'I really want to make this AND finish it and it be acceptable to wear out of the house'.

For someone who hasn't sewn since 7th grade, you did a terrific job!  Congratulations!

I love the style of this garment.  I'm not a sewer at all, sadly...

The interaction between colours are so fascinating, I'm amazed at what occurs when you weave with two different colors.

Thanks for the nice comments everyone.  I'll have to confess that the buttons are just for show.  The front is folded over and tacked down because it I made it too big.

Notes

First attempt at weaving yardage and making a garmet.  Since the last time I ever tried sewing was in 7th grade home ec class, I first made a sample out of muslin.  That helped, but I still need lots of practice sewing and maybe a few classes.

Using the different warp and weft colors gave the boring colors a little more depth and interest. Weave was a 2/2 broken twill, threaded 4,3,1,2.
