Yes, I think it is active. I live in Maine and have been weaving for a while. I have a Glimakra standard countermarch loom.

It would be nice if this group were more active. I'm in mid-coast and weave on AVL & BabyMac. I mostly weave with wool from my sheep.

Just joined Weavolution.  Fantastically happy to have found this group. I’m in Eastport. Nothing Halloween themed right now. Working on a table runner for a friend in lots of reds. I weave on a Gilmore 32” 8H for now, but thinking of selling. I’m researching countermarch looms. Honing in right now on Toika Liisa and Louet Spring. Any thoughts on these? I have a Louet Jane with stand for when we travel. Plan on stopping by Webs Weaving Room in January to try out a Louet and Toika there. Have decided it is best I test drive before getting serious about any used looms on the market - or perhaps a new one.

I just ordered a Louet Spring for two reasons:  1) I have a small house with small bedrooms and a large Oxaback would not easily fit in my home; and 2) I belong to Jane Stanford's on-line guild and she is a Louet dealer and did a great job of explaining why the Louet loom was a great loom.  And it works well if your short!  I'd love any feedback from others who own this loom as it is my first countremarch loom.

I'll be curious to hear how you like the countermarche. I have a small folding 4-harness jack loom (Norwood, RIP) and a larger 4 harness LeClerc Nilus II in pieces in the attic...:(.  It has an overhead jack mechanism in the castle I believe.   I also have a small rigid heddle, which is what got me back onto my 4 harness looms - so fun and satisfying. I had a counterbalance once upon a time - a true "barn loom" made of hewn logs, but sold it. 
 

I struggle with the shed on the small jack loom with certain tie ups - I'd be curious if the countermache is a lot better. Just found this site and I'm hoping it's a bit more active in the future!
