beautiful. Maybe repuprose it into something else? A pouch of some sort, a kindle / nook cover, I'm sure there are many other options too - too pretty to hide away in a closet. Tina

Thanks for the great ideas Tina - I'll have to think of something.

Use it for coasters, or a cover as Endorph suggested. Even a small purse with inkle bands, or cut it for trim/embelishment on another handwoven piece. The colors are great, it would be a shame to not use those great colors. Let it sit a while, one day it will be just the thing you need for a special item. Sharon

Thanks Sharon.  Great ideas.

You could always felt it a bit and then use it as accent strips in a rag rug.... :-)  I know lots of girls who love pink and black for accent colors!

with a white skull motif stenciled on top would be HOT HOT HOT!

Actually, I as thinking to felt it further might be cool, too. You can then cut it apart into squares (without worrying about it unraveling), and re-stitch it together into something larger like a rug or mat. And Prairiegirl is right, I think it would have broad appeal.

Don't be too hard on yourself. After weaving awhile, we all have a few projects like this in a dark drawer. (Let me show you a chenille scarf so stiff that it can walk out of closet unassisted, *even* after taking a tumble or two in the dryer!)

What a great idea. Thank you! I'm going to do it - felt it and re-stitch it to make a rug. I'll post the results when I'm done.

Thanks to you I washed my wool scarf to felt it.  It felted very little, but it softened up beautifully.  Now I love it.  It's too warm for California, so I am sending it to my friend in Boston who can make good use of it in the snowy weather. Thanks for the encouragement - you turned my failed project into a great gift!

wonderful things happen. I am so glad it softened up your scarf - you have a very lucky friend! Tina

I tuned back in to hear "the rest of the story," as Paul Harvey used to say.

(Paul who? ;-)

I loved Paul Harvey. I used to listen to him all the time. He always had an interesting twist on the most fasinating topics. I think he could make any story fun. Thanks for your help and encouragement. As Paul Harvey would say when signing off "Good Day".

Notes

The scarf is as heavy as a horse blanket - shouldn't have used wool.  I'll know better next time.  I have to hide this in the closet!  *** 2/14/2012 Update - I decided to felt it and make a rug out of it, and to my surprise it felted very little, but softened up beautifully!  Now I love it.
