What a neat idea-- love them.  They look like the real thing! Thanks for sharing how you made them.  I think I'll give that a try with some of my odd bits of yarn.  BTW-- a local craftsperson makes felted soap.  Not sure how-- the soap is homemade, and it is both beautiful to look at and nice to use.

What a creative and fun project.

What could be better patterns of rocks, which I love

Notes

Measurements are all very approximate. The yarn was some odd balls of heavy natural wool. I drew a pebble shape onto the paper and marked the pin placement around the edge on a grid of approximately 2 threads per cm. Weaving with a large needle, I did meandering weft to get the stripes in the pebbles. I paid careful attention to making the edges firm and smooth. After weaving I threw them in the washing machine for 4 or 5 times until they felted down to the size and thickness I wanted. I pressed them with an iron in between to keep a good flat shape. They were fun and satisfying to produce. I made 6 sets altogether for presents.
