I've been running my AVL PDL with Compudobby I for about 6 hours a day on weekends for about a month.  I love it.  It's starting to make some odd sounds, small coughing like sounds.  Should this worry me?  Does it need something?  I'm in the middle of a 30 yard towel warp, and plan to warp about a dozen alpaca throws after that and would hate to have this conk out on me.  The previous owner did not use the compdobby, only the mechanical dobby, so this hadn't been used untill I installed it and turned it on.

I would open it up and check for lint; clean it out if there is lint accumulation. Also, check your filter and clean it out regularly. (I actually have an air filter under the Compudobby to help clean the air going in, but that is probably overkill.)

If that isn't the problem, I'd email AVL and ask.
