Welcome to Spook of the Loom!
We're already collecting a diverse selection of dares and ghosties....
Have you thought yet about which weaving ghost you'd like to lay to rest?
Welcome to this Halloweave group...do let us know which weaving ghost is haunting you!
Welcome to all weavers who've joined Spook of the Loom recently!
Are any of you ready to declare your dares yet?
I have such a fear of warping!
I sold my large floor looms and now have 2 table looms on stands and some tapestry looms... I just don't understand the fear of the process!
And others out there with this ghost?
Welcome to this Group...you've come to the right place!
If you go to the strand 'How wide can I weave?', and scroll down to near the bottom, you will find that two experienced weavers have kindly posted web links to their blogs/websites, where they have helpful info on the warping process.
Hopefully there will be other newbie weavers joining you in tackling this 'demon'!
well, I did it! I had to make it more complicated than necessary (*of course) and made a wild looking striped warp of various fibers. I only made ONE mistake ([email protected]) I simply wanted to get string on the loom to get comfortable with how flipping the levers to control the shafts felt like and to see what happened with each move in the resulting fabric. I am going to a senior center in a couple of weeks to learn more about Sett and how to read a draft.... Thank you for your encouragement
Thanks for letting us know how you got on with your project. It sounds like you had fun choosing your warp yarn!
Learning to read drafts can be really good fun (once you get the hang of them!)
