About me

Living in Adelaide, South Australia with my cat. Writer, reader, music lover, medievalist, history buff, armchair traveler. Fascinated by Urbex and abandoned places, learning how to get rid of the pesky bastards known as aphids and white fly from my mint plant. (MY mint. Not theirs. Grr!) Film buff, Daniel Craig fan, love to cook, loads more. Tablet weaving was my first foray and I loved it. I've just bought a kumihimo and an inkle loom, very exciting!

I wish I’d had the forethought to take a photo of my tablet weaving loom when it was all threaded. The loom was made out of a plank from a repurposed wooden pallet and was around 3 foot long, 1/2 foot wide and 1 inch think. There were two 1/8th inch nails, one on either end, and the tablets were made out of a box of playing cards cut square, with holes punched in by a hole punch. With the yarn all threaded and the weave being worked, it was extremely efficient and yeilded some beautiful work.
