CCW_14 Klee Sample #2

Sally Orgren's picture
Sketching the general color blocks, and then figuring how that translates to warp stripes and threaded heddles
The warp as it appears on the warp board, about 9" wide, 12 epi.
Started weaving the pre-printed fabric strips. I am changing the shed in the middle of strips to bring up the desired colors where I want them.
You can see the color variations in the warp tint the color areas in the painting. It's fun to weave!

Second in a series.

For this sample, I am planning to use several colors to represent one warp stripe, to modulate the color overlay on such a big design. (Sample #1 was a much smaller pattern in the painting).

Nearly done weaving the second sample. I like the variegated warp blocks a lot. At the end of the warp, I am going to play with different weft colors, and save that as a color studysample. Meanwhile, I am thinking about how exactly I want to sew these two Klee swatches up into small clutch bags that I can enjoy while continuing to sample more ideas!
