warp: 8/4 cotton

weft/filler: 8/16 cotton

hem: 8/4 cotton 3" rolled under for 3 layers. Machine sewed with walking foot on heavy duty Singer.

I call this mixed color sequencing in a plain weave. When color is solid for a number of ends you get warp stripes, when it is alternated you get weft wise stripes from the warp. It is warp faced. Warp striping in Venetian and weft wise is often used for a mosaic, this is a mix of both. I spread the warp over 8 shafts on a straight draw instead of just two, that way no heddles or shafts need moving about or taken off. This was woven on my 60" Swedish style vertical countermarch loom.

I am planning another rug for a mosaic design, same weave structure and yarn sizes. I am going to try 30 epi next, although 24 was sufficient. :)Enjoy this nice fall day. :)

Beautiful

Love these colors playing together!  Wish my Schact standard could produce a rug!  Your hems make a neat and lovely rug even better!
