Notes:

I love the feel of the city.  It pulses with life.  I wanted to get that feeling in this piece.  Here we have a typical day in and around Central Park.  Harry and Milly are visiting from St. Louis MO, Shawn has come to the city to watch the final game at Yankee Stadium,  Brittany, a native New Yorker is hailing a taxi after a grueling day of shopping, and Ivan another denizen of the city is making time - people to see things to do.  All are passing the ubiquitious hot dog stand that dots the landscape.

I expect that it will take the rest of the year to finish this piece but every day I learn something new and improve my skills.  I have been lucky enough to have time to work on it this summer.  Being a teacher has its advantages.  Enjoy.

While I was out of town on holiday my cats got the cover off my tapestry and used it for a scratching post.  As you can see there is extensive damage to the piece.  I am thinking of cutting out the damage and needle weaving it back in but I thought I would throw it out to see if anyone else has any suggestions.  Any thoughts?

12/18

Time marches on and I have reached the half way point.  It only took 10 months (with a month and a half to rework the kitty disaster).  But things should speed up now that most of the people are in place now.  Stay tuned as the city continues to roll out its show on my loom.
