This pattern is adapted from an article by Doramay Keasbey in TWILL THRILLS. It is a 4-thread advancing twill with a reversal. It has a 3-1-1-3 twill tieup and is treadled as drawn in. The warp is 10/2 cotton in blue and the weft is 10/2 tencel in variegated purples from Just Our Yarn.

great poncho

I like your advancing twill. I tried to design one once and couldn't come up with something I liked. Great Job.

Thanks so much for your generous comments! I've been weaving for less than 5 years but I'm completely addicted. This was my first woven "garment" and now I'm working with Daryl Lancaster to improve my sewing skills and develop a "stable" of patterns for handwoven garments. I've also worked much more with advancing twills after a workshop with Bonnie Inouye, who is FABULOUS! I'm having so much fun, it must be illegal!
