This 'project' has photos of various loom parts involved in adding two shafts to a Glimakra Standard to go from 10 shafts to 12.
If there are other photos that would help, let me know! The loom isn't set up with 12 shafts at the moment (I'm still weaving the doubleweave blankets), but I can take close-up pics of any parts.
I leave 12 treadles on all the time, and 12 pairs of jacks, but I remove extra shafts, heddles, and upper/lower lamms according to the project I'm working on.
I have made the same conversion last year, and I do the same as you when I don't use them all.
My first weaving teacher would have a fit, ladies: you *must* take the unused treadles off, too!!! (What, me? - no, never... I even leave unused lamms on, sometimes :-D - but I take off extra shafts)
I've been lamenting the fact that I have only 10 shafts. Who knew I could add two more!
Are the pictures still available, I can't see them ? I'm contemplating upgrading my Standard.
