Thank you, Cathie & Peg!

These are just plain fun. Each new warp is like being set loose with a brand new box of crayons.

These towels are gorgeous! I'm a new weaver and am still trying to understand overshot. Did you use the 10/2 cotton for both the pattern and tabby? Or did you use something else for the tabby? Thanks!

Hi, Susan Claire

The 10/2 cotton is the pattern weft -- it changed with each of these towels. The dark brown 20/2 is the warp and the tabby weft for each of them. Typically, the same size and color is used for both warp and tabby weft in overshot and similar weave structures.

I was taught that if all the pattern weft was carefully cut away, the remaining cloth should be a perfectly balanced plain weave otherwise known as the "ground cloth". The hems on my towels are that plain tabby weave with no pattern weft.

Hope this helps.
