I've been weaving on my new "oldie" Schact standard since October. I've put four dish towel warps on, and I'm loving learning all about what this amazing loom can do! The loom has a serial number 207 and a Schact Spindle Company label with the sheep against a blue background. My question is this.... When I read the online maintenance manual to condition the loom regularly, it says always release the foot brake when winding on a new warp. But it looks like the new looms have a brake release right on the back of the foot pedal so the cable disengages for winding on the back beam. Is that correct? If this older loom doesn't have that, do I need to depress the brake release manually as I wind on? Thank you for reading my lengthy explanation!
