The aprons on my loom are in good shape, so I've decided to keep them for now, but the short strings that hold the metal rods have seen better days. I'm going to warp my loom back to front for this next project, and trying to work the rod out of the strings is torture (so that I can place the warp loops on instead of tying on). I was toying with the idea of replacing the strings with texsolv, like on my Schacht ridged heddle, but was wondering if there was a reason not to. Seems easier than tying new strings.
Has anyone done this?
