Have been weaving for years and recently found Wevolution on the Internet.  Am interested in most types of weaving and do so at our home in the Black Hills.

Hi Norma,

Welcome to our SD Weavers Group! I live in Rapid City, where are you located? There is a yarn store in Rapid City that has a spin-in on Friday mornings; and she sells hand-dyed roving. There is also a big weaving/spinning group that meets at a church in Rapid once a month. I will get more info for it soon. The yarn store is CR Yarn and is located at 519 Main St. (between RC Journal office and Bottecellis Restaurant); phone number (605) 791-5648.

Have a great day.

Hello, I just discovered this place because my husband knew I was looking for fellow weavers. I live in the farrrr NW corner of S. Dakota... Lemmon to be exact and own a 45 inch 4 shaft 1958 Gilmore floor loom which I recieved as a birthday Aniversery gift form my husband while in S.Calif. I understand the paterns for weaving, but the problem is I don't understand how to warp the thing. Is there anyone who has one who can walk me through warping it! Any and all help is appriciated.

Sue we will be in Rapid City this weekend and I will look up your store! Maybe you could help me out. Thank you in advance.

Hi! I will be at the store (c r yarn) on Saturday, we are not open on Sunday. I used to live in Lemmon about 14 years ago! I have my 8 harness Macomber jack loom set up at the shop so when you come in I can show you some tips. OOOH looking forward to meeting you, I'm the one with the silver hair!

Looking forward to it! Thank you!

or should I say, Warped in Rapid City! It was good to meet you and will look forward to seeing some of your projects on Weavolution once you get your loom warped!

I really enjoyed the time we spent at the store. I think you inspired Ed to actually want to bring the loom into mom's house so I would work on it. You really helped me a lot and I will call or email if I need more help <on this you can count!> and I will post a photo of the loom once it is warped. I was glad we had to stay over because that gave us more time.

Thank you again for putting up with me and the snow. And we did make it home safe and sound. (even had time to get my hair style changed a little!)

Hi all. I am a quilter/spinner (veeeerrrrry rusty)/knitter and soon to be weaver. I just moved to the Rapid City area and am starting to settle in. Hopefully my rigid heddle loom will be here soon and I can get weaving. I have actually been in the shop once and it was lovely. I plan on going again very soon. Anyway, glad to have found you!
