Weaving is all very new to me. Looking for opinions from people that know about 8 shaft loom tables. What do you like and not like about each model? If you were buying one today, what would you get? Any opinion on Ashford.

Thanks for the help.

I recently added 4 shafts to my Schacht Baby Wolf, and while I love my Baby Wolf, I discovered that treadling an additional 4 shafts is hard on my back.  For this reason, if I were buying a new 8 shaft loom today, I would have to look hard at the Louet David loom because of their cam-assisted treadles.  Now I don't know anything about Louet looms so this is not an endorsement, just a comment resulting from my experience.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I just reread your post, and you asked about 8 shaft loom tables?? If you meant a table loom, then disregard my comment as the Louet is a floor loom.

If you can get to Convergence next summer, it's a great place to loom shop.  The last time I did, I looked at table looms and liked the Ashford best.  Center levers are easier to use than side pulls.  The table loom I actuallly have is one I made myself of PVC pipe.  I wanted a portable table loom to attend a seminar with.
