Just hours ago a dear friend brought me the loom she's had stashed away for years...  I didn't even know what it was until she brought it but I'm now the proud owner of a Purrinton folding floor loom!  I did a search right away to see what I could learn and that search guided me this group.   The loom looks great, the paper that was in the bench is dated 1971 so that's possibly the date of the loom or round-about.  I do seem to be missing the reed and beater though....  I'll have to ask her if it might still be where she had it stored and if not I'll have to build a new one.  I've been looking for a photo of one so I can send it to her and show her what I am talking about since she won't have a clue, but I can't find a photo that shows that part on it's own.    I am SO excited to get to know this loom...  I never imagined that I'd own a floor loom one day!  I have a few rigid heddle looms and I have a passion for small looms and freeform weaving, but now I'm anxious to weave light rugs on this Purrington so I want to get it ready to work on very soon!
