I am almost done with my first shawl on the tri-loom my grandson built for me a couple of weeks ago. I have to say I am hooked on the tri-loom. :) Only thing I am unhappy with, basically, is that the top weft thread seemed awfully loose to me? I'm thinking I just didn't pull it tight enough? Also I discovered it is very difficult for me to distinguish the "over/under" threads? I found myself pulling out and redoing frequently. Will this improve in the future? My weaving width on my loom is 48". I had him make me a relative smaller one at this point since I wasn't sure whether I would enjoy weaving on one or not? Now I'm not certain that the 48" width will be large enough for shawls for daughters for Christmas? My girls are rather broad-shouldered and I sure don't want the shawls to look too small on them? Any suggestions or ideas whether this size will be ok? Thanks for any ideas or suggestions. God bless. MerryMac

Congrats MerryMac.  Looking forward to seeing pictures.

When you post your pics in your Profile area, make certain to add shafts to the project.  It needs to be there so the project shows up in the general project area.

Thanks, Claudia, for the info. However, I am hesitant to post the shawlette as I am not happy with the top portion of it? I realize that the top warp threads will sag somewhat as weight is added with the weaving but ... My two top threads are very loosey-goosey. Even when I crochet the top portion of the shawlette, I can tell - and I believe anyone looking at it can, too? - that something is definitely not right? Do you - or anyone else - have any suggestions about what I might be doing wrong? I am currently on my third shawlette. I pulled the top thread up close to the top nails and the sagging isn't quite as apparent overall this time around? I can tell that the two top warp threads will still sag, though, when I pull the project off the loom! Help, please. :) Thanks and God bless. MerryMac
