What an idea! Funny! Is it Finnväv?

Kristina, it looks like true double weave, not Finn weave, because the right edge is not identical to the left edge. Finn weave uses paired threads to have a smooth edge on both left and right for one face of the cloth, with different shapes on the back face. Double weave shapes look about the same when you turn it over- different colors but the same shapes with one smooth edge.

Love it, love it, love it.  That is all I have to say.

The instructions from our teacher said it was Mexican double weave pick up, so hopefully that is a real thing! Basically I had a stick, lifted the black threads and wove with white, then lifted the white threads and wove with black. I am not super technical but I hope that makes sense!

My scanner could not identify this code, although it is very similar to the code for: www.28weekslaterdvd.co.uk

Notes

This was done for a project for my weaving class at Capilano University in North Vancouver, BC. This was my first time doing double weave, so my tension was not so great in the beginning. I hope to make another one soon as I was hoping for it to read properly on a QR reader.
