I plan to weave some samitum to be used as trim. This will require cutting the samitum. I know how to full wool and process cotton fabric so it can be cut and used i sewing. However, I do not know the best methods to do the same with samitum. At this point I plan to weave the trim to the correct width. I know saimtum was cut into garments, etc. in the Middle Ages. How would you finish the fabric so it will keep it's integrity when cut and sewn?

Thanks,

Erica
