Weaving help needed! What should I buy?

I´m all new to weaving and fabric so I really need som help!

I dont want to weave myself, but I want to buy woven fabric, and I am so unsure of how you specify to a manifacturer what kind of woven fabric I want.

I would like to make my own baby wrap, and therefore buy either Broken twill weave (as in this one http://littlefrog.pl/product-eng-3015-Little-Frog-Woven-wrap-Icy-Agate-M...) or Diamond weave (as in this one (http://www.b2boutique.co.uk/Girasol_Dark_Rainbow_Diamond_Weave_Woven_Wra...)

Please, could you tell me what a specification to a manufacturer would look like?

Would make me so happy!

Have you thought about asking the local dressmakers store? They may have sources for this kind of fabric and could order some in for you?

If you are new to fabrics, you will need to start at the retail level and visit shops that sell fabrics - preferably not discounters. In many urban centers there are dressmaking shops or specialty fabric stores that not only stock a wide range of fabric, but have knowledge about what they sell.

You are going to need to learn to judge fabric quality by touching and testing with your own eyes and hands to determine what is appropriate for your product. Just ordering by a structure name from a mill might bring serious disappointment. The terms used in your examples are both twill weaves - twill has many variations - and, like the descriptions, has the qualities you are seeking for a baby wrap. That said, there are many weights, colors, densities of twill out there - now you need to do your own research to see what is available to you.
