where y'll at?
Anyone else out this way?
Why don't we introduce ourselves and where we're from? I'm Trish from San Antonio. I like to explore color and structures on scarves. I'm particularly intrigued by collapse weaves right now.
I grew up in Houston, learned to weaver from Houston weavers....moved thru Okalahoma and Delaware, glad to be home in Texas after 22 years! Living in Johnson City, Texas now. I'm a rugweaver and silk weaver. I also do natural dye extracts.
I'm in San Marcos. A new weaver, just a few months. I'm really loving this new hobby. I also spin and knit..... I attend a weaving study group in Wimberley twice a month. Are there more groups like that out there? Lydia
I'm in the Dallas Metroplex, between Dallas and Denton. We have three guild in the area, Dallas, Denton and Ft. Woth.
I am from Tyler, TX, in the beautiful north-east TX hills, woods, azaleas and roses. We don't have a guild, but do have a weaving shop, Rosepath, just north of I-20. I started weaving over 25 years ago, while living in Houston. As such, I am a member of the Houston, Dallas and TX Guilds. Weaving wool rugs is my very favorite weaving, followed by band weaving(tablet, braiding, inkle and ethnic pick-up.)
Hello, I'm Teresa from Fort Worth. I like to travel and do alot of Arts and Crafts. My Weaving has improved with time and the great classes I've taken with the Fort Worth Weaver Guild.
Hi, I'm D'Anne (Danny) from Houston. I like to weave with fine threads with silk being my favorite fiber. I have only been weaving for 7 years and am so lucky to have access to the many talented and sharing weavers in the two Houston guilds.
Hi, Suzanne from Georgetown here. I'm a 4H person (mostly) and my poor old 1940-something Gilmore has been sitting naked far too long. That WILL change now that the Estes Park Wool Market is over.............
Hi all, I'm Sherie and I live in Amarillo. I've been weaving on a RH loom for about a year. Just got a new Harrisville 36" 8H loom! First warp to go on today, wish me luck.
Hello - my name is Sandi and I live in Round rock. Give me a holler when you are ready and I'll help you warp your loom
have you heard about the Austin Fiber Arts group and the Weavers and Spinners Society of Austin. Both are good groups. you can find them on the web
Hi, I'm Rob (Roberta) and I moved to San Antonio a little more than a year ago. (I posted this first on the forum, rather than the group, or vice versa -- what's the difference?) The Southwest School of Art and Craft is a wonderful place here in SA. I have been studying tapestry weaving there, and this term am enrolled in the studio weaving group, working on a Navajo-technique wall hanging on a 4-harness floor loom. The pleasures of working in the studio with other weavers has led to a huge collection of fantasies about future projects! Trish, are you ever at the Southwest School?
Thanks. No, but I'll check into them...... :-) I do go to the Coneheads weaving study group at Old Oaks Ranch twice a month. A great environment. Great teacher! Lydia
Hi guys.. moderator marie here and I'm told we're supposed to have these discussions in the 'forum' not the group section. Confusing, I know.. and they're fixing that.
Same general area. I was here first and no one was talking, now it seems we're supposed to talk somewhere else?
Then what's this group for?
I see you everywhere on the web lately but not as up close and personal. Has it been that long?
Hmm, what are the groups for if we're supposed to have our chats in the forums? Yup, I'm easily confused! LOL
