Colors for Tapestry

I needed to dye some fiber samples for two other projects so while I was at it I decided to dye all the other colors of acid dye I had on hand (the purples and blues aren't reading right in this picture).  I've got about 2 oz of each.  I plan on spinning up the fiber into yarns I can practise my tapestry weaving with.

Great colors.  I am resisting, resisting, resisting starting something else. I just don't want to take time from weaving to learn something else.  Even when it helps me get to the colors I envision.  I am sticking with available colors right now.  Perhaps someday I will slow down enough with weaving all the ideas I have to get to the dying stuff.  We will see....

Thank you all for the kind words.  I'm going to spin up about half of each color and save half in case I need to do some color blending.  In between spinning I'll be working on some sketches for my first tapestry thats not just a learning piece.

Cheeky,

What a great idea, blending the colors before they are spun.  I can hardly wait to see how they look.  I may have to rethink my resolve about dyeing.

Summer is a wonderful time to get some dyeing in. My guild had a dye day last Saturday at a member's back yard - a lovely day. We were dyeing plant materials for the most part. The weather has since turned rainy & cool, so I've had to put off any more dye fun.

I have many skeins of white mohair that lists acrylic as part of the mix. I have wound off two skeins to experiment with. At least they've been scoured.
