Michael, didn't you say you'd never seen one with a fly shuttle attached? Or someone else needed to know how it should be set up? Maybe you can get an idea from this ad.

If you click on the link within the ad, it will take you to this person's web page. On there, he has posted links to the literature that comes with the loom. Some very interesting Macomber literature that I've never seen before!

I wish I had room for this. It is so darned cool!

As Macs go, this is not a monster.  They get much bigger -- both in width and number of shafts.  I'm actually surprised they put a fly shuttle on this because most American adults can work up to throwing and catching a 48" width.  This loom can easily fit through a normal door, for example.

Oh, gosh yes, I know that Macs get a lot bigger. This one just looks huge with the fly shuttle and the fact that it has a very deep castle and will hold up to 20 harnesses.

Maybe the owner was very small?

Size or arm issues is a good theory, or maybe the idea of getting the loom "loaded".  I got the 20 shaft frame with 10 shafts, and eventually got the other 10.  I did initially get 2 back beams, etc., but no fly shuttle.  My only regret is that I only got a 48"  width, not bigger.  Given the number of times I've moved it, though, I guess I'm lucky that I didn't.  Now that I know I'll never move again, I'm halfway looking for a bigger loom -- at least a 64" -- with fly shuttle, to have in addition.

My problem is that I know if I got more shafts I would use them, and on some tie-ups I might be getting close to my maximum lift. This means I either need power-assist, or a countermarche.

There is also a slight problem of adding on to the house, but I will do that . . .

Wow! Sounds like a great loom. LOL If I won the lottery, I'd have a dedicated studio with all the bells and whistles. I have "weave-ins" and let everybody play with all the looms to see what does what....etc

Darn Lottery. It won't cooperate.

It would be nice if when I play the lottery I can get just one number that is on my ticket. Bummer.

Connie I copied all the PDF files from the above listing to my computer. I also send the person with the question on the fly shuttle the above link via a PM.

Very interesting.. I gather the shuttle that we have with our B4 (56/16) is called a sliding shuttle and according to the folks in York Me wasn't successful. The previous owner (and original owner) of our loom bought the shuttle new and only used it once. We hope to get the missing parts from her this weekend. I'll post photos once I get them.

I know this is a long shot but I am trying to find a fly shuttle for my new to me R10 floor loom.  It was suppose to come with the original fly shuttle but unfortunately the family we purchased the loom from is unresponsive.  It has a 56" weaving width and was built in 1957.
