Might as well join the fun :)

Well this afternoon I planned out my scarf draft in twill weave with tabby selvedges (4 ends per side). They will be 60" long with twisted fringe and 9.5" wide on the loom. I begin winding warp tomorrow and might actually start threading to. I seem to have a cold coming on, so it might be a different mood in the morning.

Have a good one. :)

I hope your cold stays at bay.

I have 4 pounds of chenille I just received and not quite sure what to do with it.  I think I will do a couple of shawls.

Glad to see you've joined the daily weaverliness.  I love to watch everybody's projects grow.

better ReedGuy - I spent some time today getting a warp on the loom - a little over half-way done with the threading - 416 ends of 8/2 cotton

Well, after a good Thanksgiving, got to weave yesterday.  Finished another 2 towels on my long towel warp, and designed a demo warp for my Harrisville.  Needs to look Christmas-sy so am using Forest Green 20/2 merc cotton, for a miniature overshot.  That way, I can use white, red, maybe some metallic.  I ususally use these for small drawstring sachet's and small patterns work well.  I have to work today, and then its football, so the best I will do today is some hand work that needs to be finished.

Happy weaving everyone,

Cheryl

I've got the warp beamed this morning, 8.5 yards. Should be able to thread the heddles and reed this afternoon to weave those scarves. :)

Looks like some intersting projects underway folks.

Have a good weekend all.

I'm from Denmark, and I'm wondering, what the word "weaverliness" means. Is it a kind of slang? I could pick up my english dictionary, but I'm to lazy at the moment, it is just after dinner and I have had a good dinner and some redwine.

I wish you all a happy weekend

Just wove off a warp of 10 Christmas towels from the warp that never seemed to end; now on to sleying a warp for Christmas table runners.  I'm hoping to get the loom dressed by tomorrow!

some chenille I just picked up.  Never used chenille for warp before and decided to try it.  So far so good.

Grethe.....weaverliness, I think is just a made up word here but I could be mistaken, to me means anything to do with weaving.  I'm guessing here.

I don't know that it is a real word but I used it meaning anything realted to weaving - so it can include planning, designing, spinning, finishing, as well as warping, and weaving.

Yeah, I just give'm to family. They are the family tartan. Just so happens they are Christmasy. One more rep and I'll have the first scarf done. Going along quite well and I have not needed to anchor the shafts with elastic. Centred well I guess and lots of shed, so I can do a whole 8" rep before advancing. Very light beat since this is single ply wool. I'm using a basket weave edge like Ellen did on her cashmere scarves. Following the threading that Laura posted back in 2010. Thanks to Ellen for helping me out and posting the link to Laura's draft.

Have fun. :)

Today I finished a scarf with handspun weft that I had on my RH loom.  It is wet finished now and ready to wrap!  Also worked a bit more on cleaning out my sewing room for the new loom that arrives Tuesday!

I have a round bale of scarves (5) now to twist some fringe. Lots of practice. ;)

Right now I'm working on a sampler for a bed spread in twin size. It will be 10/2 cotton and 1440 ends (24 epi). I won't get it threaded until tomorrow, although I did start to thread heddles. I won't spoil the suspence until I begin weaving. :)

I guess I forgot to hit save. But here's a little bit to tickle your fancy.

10/2 merc cotton, 24 epi

My own draft. Not sure what you'd call it, as to weave structure.

The blue is too light for my taste buds in this sample. Need a navy blue. Also waiting to see how it fulls, the weave is bit open. It may morph into a comforter and double weaved as a tube, then stuff it and close the ends and hand sew some cross stitches. Wow, making it sound like work. Don't know yet. The sample will at least be a runner or a towel. :)

Here's one of Braddock's defeat pillows sewn up from my latest project. I sewed up both ends and never used a zipper. The pillow pile is washable polyester. Time will tell if it holds up. It's a bit lacey, plus those floats. Over shot maybe?. Anyway, it is what it is. :) Here it is washed and fulled.

Time to head to the shop for a couple loom accessories.

Have a good one. :)

I am so very impressed with the work I view and read about on this site.  I am slowly weaving a shawl that I started on New Year's Day.  It is an eight shaft plaited twill pattern with Merino & silk.  I struggle with the selvedges because the yarn is so soft and that I am afraid to increase the tension. Daily I have been weaving a few more inchess on it.  Wish me luck and keep inspiring me with your posts.
