What's Up Spiders?

Not a peep yet? What are you working on? I'm going to be warping up the inkle loom later, working on pick-up patterns. I get going great guns, then I miss a pattern row, or I get distracted for a few minutes and lose my place--so getting better organized is a big part of it!

On my warp today for the matching placemats to my Rep weave table runner. I think I need to tweak the pattern just a bit. Haven't decided if I want to use my current pattern and make it 15 " to turn horizontal or add 3" to the pattern (another 96 ends....ugh) . What are you thoughts?

Hi, I'm hoping this group will also give me the "nudge" I need to get to the loom and get busy. I'm a new weaver of about six months and love it. I just put on a 6 inch-4 yard warp to do a sampler. I've made a couple scarves and some towels (plain weave & twills) but decided I needed to get a look at different weaving structures (right term?) so maybe the sampler will give me that (it has about 60 different treadling sequences). Hope to hear more of your projects for inspiration. Kathy

Right now I'm winding warp for some cheerful curtains for my studio. Looking forward to the weaving part.

But does it count that I spent the day volunteering at The Little Loomhouse in Louisville KY? Today was my first day as a volunteer - it was a lot of fun. Sometime when you have a minute, check out their website. Really interesting weaving history. Hope to have more weaving progress tomorrow.

weaverly weekend.  Stayed with Dad since Thursday so no weaving.  Although I am finishing the rep table runner and designing some drafts for new projects.....hope that counts for daily weaverly things.

I tried to take photos of my mug mats on the loom, but it is too dark and I can't get them to turn out. I even tried a flash. I will take photos when I take them off the loom.

I have missed only a couple of days weaving. I am hampered by fibromyalgia so I can weave only a short time each day. I restrict myself to one mug mat or 200 weft shots on the red scarf per day. If I do this every day I can make good progress. I can see the knots on the warp rod on the scarf, so I am almost finished with it. The mug mats still have a lot of warp left.

Is it too late to join this group?   I was out of the country during the first part of the month, so couldn't weave daily.   But I plan to do that for the rest of the month.   I came back with a cold, so I might not do as much as I'd like until that's over.

I think you can join.

Hope you get better quickly!

Everybody's welcome! I'm excited today, because I bought a Cricket loom yesterday! It was so easy to assemble and direct warping--just wow. SO easy compared to my table loom!

and doing other weavely things.   I got an eamil about a local recycling place that had a delivery of hundreds of cones of yarn.   I went over there this morning and picked up 40 pounds of yarn for a grand total of $5.   I stuck with cotton and linen / cotton blends.  How's that for a deal!

I am also working on a draw loom piece, using pattern saving lashes and a silk weaving on my Macomber.   I need to take pictures tomorrow and will post them.

Red ScarfI was finally able to get a photo of the red scarf on the loom. I have since finished weaving and am in the process of twisting fringes and then washing it.

I am completely in love with my little Cricket loom. I set it up again today, and had it warped and ready to go in no time flat. I have a stash of acrylic yarns that were given to me when I first started knitting, so I'm using them till I feel more confident with the weaving.

Today's warp is a dark green Caron Simply Soft, with a weft in variegated green, cream, pink, and purple.
