Group Discussion Progress

For those who have been following the site progress, we wanted to let you know we have been reconnecting the group discussions in alphabetical order. We finished the F's today. We are nearly 1/3rd of the way through this process.

We would like to take the opportunity to lay to rest some rumours that have been spread in other places. Thank you to those who spoke up and let us know that some people were falsely stating on other platforms that Weavolution content has been lost. We have stated this before and want to take the opportunity to restate it; this is simply not true. The association between some users and content did not transfer over and the association between groups and their discussions was lost, but as already said the content is all here and is being reconnected.

Thank you for your patience,

Erica & Oliver

I am close to halfway through reconnecting the old group posts with their groups! I have 3 I's left to do, then on to the J's.

This has actually been a really great experience. I am enjoying seeing all the groups and what has been discussed in them already!

Thank you for your understanding. I just want to take another opportunity to let everyone know, you can still search the site for previous posts, they are all here already. This process is just reconnecting posts with their group(s).

Have a great day,

Erica

I have made it halfway through 165 of the groups. Over half way there. I hope to finish in a few more weeks. On a good day, I can get through about 15 groups, but  I don't always have that much time each day. So wish me luck, I have about 130 groups left.

I don’t know where to post this. As near as I can tell there’s no one else interested in this topic, or I haven't figured out how to find them.

I have come into a large quantity of wool scraps of various sizes that were formerly knit sweaters. I'm thinking of weaving a rug on my peg loom. I don't have a sewing machine to stabilize the edges of the pieces. I thought I' cut them in lengths an inch or two wide to weave with and felt them by squishing them in hot water before or after weaving.

I'd be interested in whether anyone's tried anything like this, or has any thoughts on my idea. A number of the pieces have been cut lengthwise so unraveling them to use the yarn won't work.

thanks!

I would try to felt the whole piece, then cut it.  Some pieces may be washable (I am asuming that all of your pieces are wool), which won't felt or full.
