My prize has arrived

My prize has arrived and is unpacked. I am now having to wait to finish off one project before starting this one. It was fortuitous Halloweave since I got a full time job at the end of October and have done virtually no weaving since.

Many Thanks to Halcyon Yarn for donating the prized. And congratulations to all who won prizes.

I loved my towel kit I got from Halcyon on the first Halloweave. Enjoy - and Congrats on the job too!

I agree! I appreciate how Halcyon has been one of the very long-time vendors who have supported the weaving community, and a consistent supporter of Weavolution from the earliest days. (If my math is correct, next year will be Weavo's 5th anniversary!)

For newbies, their Yarn-store-in-a-box is an incredible tool to have, especially when you are trying to figure out what kinds of weaving yarns there are, how big the grist sizes are, what size to set weaving yarns, and how much comes on a cone or spool. They have full color sample sheets with weaving guides for each type of yarn they carry, from the finest silks to the novelty stuff, to the rug wools.

No, I don't work for them, but I have been a happy customer for nearly 20 years. And I really appreciate that they updated the sample cards for free when I visited the store in Maine two years ago, even though I purchased my box in the 1990's when I was a new weaver. (This would make a great holiday gift request, if you don't already have one!)

And they have a great selection of weaving books.   Several of there books are difficult to find elsewhere, so I always look at Halcyon when I'm looking for a particular book.

As a newbie here, I have been unable to find the submissions or the rules of what sounds like a very cool contest.  Can you help me figure out where to start?

Queezle, The Halloweave contest was a lot of fun... I was lucky enough to win a prize, haven't received it yet, but maybe it will be in the mail tomorrow. Can't wait.
