I'm Karen, and still in my first year of learning to weave on a floor loom. I have tackled mohair on my rigid heddle -- and I do mean tackle -- and came out alive, but I haven't had the courage to tackle it on my big countermarche loom. I have decided to jump in with both feet and fight it out. I have ordered mohair yarn to use as warp -- EEK! -- and weft. If you hear me scream, you'll know why.

Is there a fiber you've been afraid to try, for one reason or another? If so, then this group is for you. Whether you decide to just dabble and sample, or complete an entire project, you're welcome here. This is a learning place, and I look forward to learning together. There is no fear of failure here, only opportunities for learning!

Hopefully, we will untangle ourselves through patience and persistence.

Hi Karen, thanks so much for starting this group!

I'd like to join you on the 'mohair' road - yes, WARP AND WEFT!

Many, many, years ago I once saw an elderly lady wearing an exqisite jacket woven in black and white mohair yarn. The jacket looked so elegant, and at the same time warm and comfortable.

So my aim is to weave some yardage (in mohair) for a jacket.

Welcome, Beth! Mohair yardage for a jacket sounds lovely, and a bit scary, so that's perfect. I don't really expect misery, but if there are challenges, we can help each other out. It'll be great fun! Thanks for joining!
