Hi all,

We completed the outer shell of my wedding-dress on Saturday, and I thought I'd share some photos.  On the left, the shell of the dress (it looks like there are fitting issues, but that's just because we haven't put in the foundation yet); on the right, a mockup of what it will look like once the Alencon lace and cultured Akoya (saltwater) pearls are put on.

Click on the photos for the larger version; the lace in particular needs to be seen close up.

I have also finished weaving the coat fabric and have cut out all the pieces, so expect another update next weekend, showing the outer shell of the coat!

Believe it or not, there are over 70,000 weft picks in this dress - 33,156 picks in the coat fabric and over 37,000 in the dress fabric.  That's a LOT of weaving!!!
