I mentioned that I am looking at inkles and band looms and a friend said "Hey, why don't you see if this thing works for you." So now I have mystery loom. Does anyone know anything about this? I assume it is a homemade job, as there are no marks. There is no tension adjustment, and no moving parts. EXCEPT that there are these peg holes. Should I assume some dowel fit in behind the pegs that fit these holes, and the dowel advances to release tension? I am sure that would work, but I wonder if there is some thing else I haven't noticed yet.

I have some of the same design that say Lily on the side . I got them from my aunt who is an art teacher. She cleared out all her weaving equipment from school about 10 years ago and gave it all to me, because I actually was teaching weaving. Sadly she had not had any students interested in weaving since the 80's, though I have to admit it worked out very well for me! Only one of. Jane still had the dowel, so my husband made new dowels for the others. He found some nails that citing the small holes and bent the top of the nail back so it is easy to get the nail back out. Cheers, Erica

there is one on ebay now.  It has pics of it warped and pics of the dowl that emj is speaking of.  here is the link to the auction.  I think you can save the pics by right clicking on them and sending them to your documents.

I love the giving nature of WEavolutionaries! There are so many loms out there and many don't have manufacturers labels anymore! It is great that we have so many great people with experience to help us figure out what we have and how to keep it in use!

Enjoy your loom,

Erica
