Well done!

I like the story of trial and error in your project.

You are now a weaver. Welcome to the obsession.

Have a joyful day!

Hi Kim!

Great blog post. Lots of fun to read. I like how your cat is ''involved''. Your backstrap looks wonderful and I love the colors you chose. Can you give us a brand name for the cotton you used-how many wraps per inch or give an idea of the weight. It looks mercerized in the photos. This will be useful for other backstrap weavers starting out in this group.

And please .please could you post a photo of your backstrap here in this forum AND here........

www.weavolution.com/node/5896    ths is the WeaveZine forum where there is a page about the article.

I would love to use the photo of your backstrap on this group's main page too.

Good job and I am so glad you are hooked!

Thank you, Francorios. My knitting and weaving journey has been all about trial and error. I guess I like to figure things out. I've been to your blog many times and find it interesting how many different ideas you try out on your looms.

Hi Laverne! Yes, my cat is "involved." That's the kind way to say it. I could also say he attacks the yarn, but sometimes he just watches and purrs. I'll include all those details you asked about, but I need to find the yarn name again. I'll attempt to do the pictures, too.

Backstrap weaving is really cool! Thank you for the encouragement.

Spinnerholm has completed a couple of projects too. Check these out!..............

Her backstrap is made from her own handspun and she has used inke bands to attach it to the loom bars. Great idea!

Weaving along with Aunt Janet she made this ''comb'' design band following the first beginner tutorial here.

Thanks for the pictures, Connie.

Here's my first project, also a backstrap. The warp is recycled cotton (from a thrift store sweater I unraveled) and the weft is Peace Fleece. It is a warp-emphasis fabric and seems pretty sturdy. The green cords are cotton twisted cords.  Cindy

Thanks for posting this Cindy. It looks like a nice sturdy strap. That was a great idea using up that yarn from the thrift store purchase-I would never have thought to do that.

Any thoughts on your next project?
