Testing an idea for a fast sprang frame. At the 99 cent store I bought a plastic basket, a bag of square dowels, and a ball of acrylic yarn.

I tied the dowels to the basket and wrapped yarn around with figure 8 wrap. The string on the left will the "safety string."

Sprang. Test complete. Cost of materials $3

Have a good day!

And if you are using a less stretchy yarn that has more take-up, you could just ove the dowel down to the next set pf holes in the basket!  great idea!

Yes, it's one of those ideas that worked on the first try. I was able to sit on the couch and sprang while watching TV. The basket raised the sprang so I could get my hands under it. I'm so glad I found this!

Other considerations are the sticks could be moved for tension adjustment or could be tied to the basket edge above or below to allow for adjustment.

I should mention that I needed to wind off a small amount of yarn from the ball to make a smaller skein that would fit between the stick and the basket frame.

Have a good day!
