I just got back from teaching a drawloom class in Roberts Wisconsin at the Color Crossing weaving shop.  It is about 40 miles east of St. Paul Minnesota.  If anyone in the area would like to stop by, the looms are still set up and will be there for you to see for a couple months.  Patty is considering having an open house.

We set up two countermarch looms with half heddle sticks, which is a way to prepare an ordinary loom with long eyed heddles to demonstrate the weaves of a drawloom and to show how the drawloom works.   One is set up for opphamta and the other for a six shaft damask. We also set up a Standard countermarch loom with a new Myrehed shaft drawloom, using 11 pattern shafts.  Most were weaving damask on this loom.  We put on a black warp and the sample patterns they wove are really nice. There is a fourth loom set up as part of the class, with a linen warp.

If you are interested in drawloom weaving and you live in the midwest, give Patty a call and she will show the looms to you and demonstrate on them.  You can contact Patty at
