This time I really am finished with the dyeing season. Here are some fall colors from acorns, walnuts, hickory nut hulls, lambsquarter, pokeberries, Virginia creeper, and the red and orange leaves of red maple, dogwood, sugar maple, and sumac. Time to celebrate! I tried to take a picture from the top of the hill, but the grass was too tall, Gruetli wouldn't stand up (she had just pulled the cart up the hill), and other problems, so we took the picture by the springhouse. The trees in the background provided some of the leaves for the reds and oranges. And now it's time to gather some of that broomsedge for making baskets!
