Greetings good gentles!

I haven't played in the SCA  for a few years and am thinking about day-tripping a feast next weekend. I'd like to bring along some weaving while I'm there. Maybe do some teaching to anyone intrested.

I'm not a fan of card weaving, so am thinking of bringing my small rigid heddles. I might make some out of popsicle sticks to bring along for anyone who wants to give this a try.

Most of the pictures I can find show rigid heddles being used in a box loom. I don't have one. Were they ever used "backstrap" fashion?

I think this is a fantastic idea! As you well know, rigid heddles are one of the earliest, if not the earliest form of weaving. I am a big proponent of more rigid heddle weaving in the SCA!

I hope you enjoy the feast and have great students! Please let us know how it turns out!

Cheers,
