Hi Folks, I am slowly assembling Jolly Brown, my 60" 12s, 14t, AVL Modular loom after 2 years of her sitting idle in pieces scattered around the cellar. I have the frame bolted together, the shafts hung, the treadles installed and the spring assembly installed. Next is the treadle cables. I should get that done tomorrow or this weekend. One thing I have done is weave one repeat of the lace hearts almost every day before I get ready for work. Some days I do 2, and some days I don't do any, depending on how I feel and how busy I am. I think I am down to the last few yards. At least I hope so. I am not sick of the fabric, just that it is tedious to raise and lower the shafts by hand.
Once I get Jolly all together, I am looking at weaving a "blankie" for my granddaughter to take to college with her. I have some mohair and some rayon and I am thinking of trying that combination. Maybe they will counteract each other, lol. Time for jammies and bed, Wee
Gosh, I don't know. What needs to be restored? Do you no longer weave because you can't warp the looms alone? If that's the case, let us know where you are in the country and maybe a weaver lives close enough to help. Or you can recruit a wannabe weaver to learn from your vast experience. I hope you can get an answer here, Wee
