I wanted to weave for the longest time, I was fascinated whenever I could watch someone at a loom. Sadly, my mother was not fiber inclined, and neither she nor I knew anyone who did weave. My grandmother taught me to knit when I was young, and I happily did that for years, but secretly, I really really wanted to weave. I chose a uni that had a weaving department and never looked back. I've been happily weaving ever since. I've also been doing a lot of traveling and am amazed and delighted at the fantastic people I've been able to meet through fiber arts. Right now I'm trying everything so I can figure out what I love, but I keep coming back to using fine yarns and rug weaving, definitely opposites, but I love them for different aspects.
