I started weaving in the 70's when the popular style was with bulky handspun fibers and free form wall hangings. I took several classes in the LA area and was totally hooked with textiles. Then in 1982 I took a job in South Lake Tahoe as a school administrator and all weaving time disappeared. During my 20 years as a principal I often collected textiles when we traveled - that sort of kept me connected with weaving. In 2002 I retired and went back to weaving in earnest. We live in Goodyear AZ during the winter and I've joined a weaving guild there. And recently I joined the Reno Fiber guild so that during the summer when we're in Tahoe I can keep up with my weaving. The guild holds workshops every year and a Conference every other year. I've been lucky enough to take lots of great classes over the years. I find weaving to be relaxing and therapeutic and terribly addictive. Now I'm coveting a larger computer driven loom so I can do more intricate weaving.
