- About me
I live on southern Vancouver Island and have a studio in my home. I have three main looms: a Louet Jane table loom and stand, a Louet Spring 36" 12 shaft countermarche and a Woolhouse 45" 12 shaft countermarche (with 20+ tie up assist) I believe I have my chosen looms after years of experimenting with other 'pretty distractions' !
I enjoy weaving a series of scarves, shawls and runners. I also weave off kitchen towels as great full sized 'samples' and great sale items. My warps run from 6 to 12 yards on average. I keep a weaving journal or blog of my ongoing projects. Please come and visit!
I have been weaving since early 1996 and jumped right in ! I also spin (Majacraft Rose wheel) dabble with beading ( as embellishments on my weaving) occassionally bobbin lace ( plan to use on my linen projects as embellishments) and also dye my own painted silkwarps and wefts and experiment with other fibres and colour. I would have to say that I lean more towards 'structure' and learning to be braver with colours. I try to weave, plan a project or pull a warp every day....and no naked looms! Always have a warp ready to go on when a project comes off.
