- About me
Hi! I am Chiaki a SAORI Weaver in Minnesota.
My husband and I are both SAORI weavers/certified instructors. So far, we are the only certified instructors in Midwest.
We have a home studio called SAORI Studio "FUN" and do classes, summer camps, artists in residency program, intensive course.....as well as off site class/workshop with our 8 SAORI looms.
I also teach in a gallery "Mill District Arts Gallery" monthly downtown Minneapolis.(www.milldistrictartsgallery.com)
I love SAORI, because it is Free-Style. I can enjoy the moment of weaving rather than worrying about the finished product. I like playing with colors and textures! Then you create something "one of a kind". This phrase attracted me when I first went to find out what SAORI was back in 1996. I still love the phrase. Now, I am creating something "one of a kind!" This is amazing.
SAORI taught me not just weaving, but also creating things are such a fun thing to do and learning about people.SAORI is for all ages and all abilities.
I would like to tell everyone that if I can do this, you can do this, too!
- I am a teacher
- I teach
I teach SAORI Free-Style Weaving at our home studio, SAORI Studio "FUN" in Chaska, Minnesota.
The class system is very flexible. I offer regular classes, drop in classes, birthday parties, summer camp, intensive course...
I also offer off sites (art fairs, fiber fairs, artists in residencies etc.) with my 8 SAORI looms.
I have started teaching in Downtown Minneapolis in a gallery called Mill District Arts Gallery.(www.milldistrictartsgallery.com) monthly for people live in cities. I am also one of a resident artists there.
Let's learn together as a group!
