- About me
I grew up with grandmothers who quilted and my mother made all my clothes until I was in high school and we started to wear jeans all the time. During the 70s I learned to macrame and was inclined to launch into projects way larger and more intricate than the average hippie-girl of the time. At some point, a friend's mother looked at the wallhanging I was working on and commented I should consider weaving -- that my block design would be more conducive to the loom than to knot tying -- so, one thing led to another and eventually I was able to get a 4- harness floor loom that has moved with me everywhere I've gone since.
I always wanted to join a weaving guild, but "never had the time" so years were spent languishing and doing only what I already knew how to do. I have learned more the the year and a half I have been active in the Palmetto Fiber Arts Guild than I did in the previous 20 years -- but sadly, still don't spend much time at the loom.
Writing is one of my other talents and loves. I maintain the Palmetto Fiber Arts Guild's blog.Check it out at http://palmettofiberartsguild.blogspot.com
